Marsden M-100 Column Scale with Height Measure (M-100)
How can I calculate BMI?Body Mass Index (BMI) is recognised worldwide as the most common way to assess whether a person is overweight or not. It is calculated by dividing a person’s weight in kilograms by the square of their height in metres.
With an integrated height measure, the M-100 can easily be used to calculate a person’s BMI. Simply allow the patient to stand on the scale and raise the height measure to the correct height. Then press the BMI key to enter into BMI mode. Enter the height using the keypad and weight, height and BMI will all appear on the screen.
What is a Class III Approved scale?A Class III Approved scale like the M-100 is built, tested, verified and calibrated in order to meet a specific standard. If a scale is used in the determination of mass in the practice of medicine for the purpose of monitoring, diagnosis and medical treatment’ it must be Class III Approved. These scales are rigorously tested by an EU notified body to provide the user with assurance that it is accurate, reliable and fit for purpose. Find out more here.
Who uses the M-100?As a premium medical scale with height measure, the M-100 is perfect for GP surgeries, health centres and hospitals. Paediatric departments like this scale because of the precise 50g increments suitable for when young people are weighed. Outpatients departments benefit from the scale’s easy to use functions and clear, precise weighing. With its 300kg capacity, almost any patient can be weighed on this scale.
Why should I choose the M-100?Choose the M-100 if you need a complete measuring solution for hospital wards, outpatient departments and obesity clinics. The scale has a 300kg capacity and graduations to 50g. The height measure gradations are 1mm.
An internal rechargeable battery means the M-100 can be used absolutely anywhere regardless of where your power sockets are. A mains adaptor is also supplied, however.
Additionally, Bluetooth or Wifi connectivity can be purchased as an optional extra - allowing instant transfer of patient weighing data to a central database. If you are planning to ‘go paperless’ - either now or in the future - choosing Bluetooth or Wifi connectivity will help you future-proof your scale.
The TP-2100 Printer is a popular optional extra with this scale - it means patient weight, height and BMI data can instantly be printed out.
