Marsden M-430 Floor Scale (M-430)
What is a Class III Approved scale?Class III Approved scales are built, tested, verified and calibrated to meet a specific standard. The NAWI directive states that all scales ‘used in the determination of mass in the practice of medicine for the purpose of monitoring, diagnosis and medical treatment’ must be Class III Approved. Approved scales are subject to rigorous testing by an EU notified body. This provides assurance to the user of the scales that they are accurate and reliable for medical use.
What does MDD Approved mean?MDD Approved means that the device meets strict safety requirements enforced (in the UK) by Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). The Medical Devices Directive (MDD 93/42/EEC) is one of three directives that cover all medical equipment intended to be used to diagnose, prevent, monitor or treat.
With the exception of hoist weighing attachments, it is not a requirement for weighing scales to be MDD Approved, only Class III Approved. However most Marsden professional medical scales are MDD Approved as an extra seal of quality and reliability.
Who uses the M-430?The M-430 scale is robust and long-lasting meaning it the ideal floor scale for Outpatients departments in hospitals, as well GP surgeries. Pharmacies favour a hard-wearing, easy to use scale like the M-430 for the NHS Health Check programme. The optional carry case means the scale can be used in the community without fuss too.
Why should I choose the M-430?The M-430 is covered by the Marsden 8 Year Warranty.
The M-430 has a 220kg capacity and graduations to 200g. It is a highly dependable, digital alternative to dial scales, and widely used around the world. Its reinforced aluminium structure means it's built to last far longer than the average medical scale.
There is a simple tap-on featuring meaning there’s no bending down to switch the scale on. The scale has a non slip surface and adjustable levelling feet. The scale is powered by 6x AA batteries for over 100 hours of use (6000 weigh ins).
There is optional Bluetooth connectivity available for transferring weight data to a patient database. Marsden does not provide software for receiving weight data from your scale.
