Marsden M-653 Wheelchair Scale with Folding Handrail (M-653)
What is a Class III Approved scale?A Class III Approved medical scale has been built, tested, verified and calibrated to meet certain standards, determined by the NAWI directive. This Directive states that all scales ‘used in the determination of mass in the practice of medicine for the purpose of monitoring, diagnosis and medical treatment’ must be Class III Approved. Scales that are Class III Approved have been rigorously tested by an EU notified body to assure the user of reliability and accuracy.
The M-653 is Class III Approved. It is also MDD Approved, meaning it meets the strict standards for a medical device under the Medical Devices Directive (MDD 93/42/EEC).
How can you weigh someone in a wheelchair? With wheelchair scales, a patient can remain in their own wheelchair - where they feel comfortable. The M-653 makes weighing a patient in their wheelchair easy, since it can accommodate almost any type of wheelchair.
Simply switch the scale on, and push the patient onto the scale. Preset Tare/Tare can be used to remove the weight of the wheelchair from the display, leaving only the weight of the patient on the screen of the indicator. Find out more here.
Who uses the M-653?With a large base suitable for almost any size of wheelchair and a capacity to 300kg, this scale is ideal for weighing wheelchair patients in hospital and care home environments. The fold-down handrail means this scale is portable and can be moved between hospital wards and rooms of a care home. Particularly, this scale is ideal for Renal Units, Outpatients areas and where regular weight readings are required for disabled patients.
Why should I choose the M-653?The scale provides accurate weight readings to 100g and has a 300kg capacity. BMI can be calculated by inputting the patient’s height. The indicator is powered by an internal rechargeable battery for extra portability and flexibility.
A printer is available as an optional extra, so you can provide patients with a printed record of their weight, and the date and time the readings were taken.
The platform surface of these wheelchair scales is robust and long-lasting - the M-653 is built to withstand years of regular use. A Marsden service contract can also be purchased, providing the minimum recommended re-calibration intervals of every 12 months, and keeping your M-653 accurate and reliable.
M-653 wheelchair scales can be purchased with Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connectivity - allowing instant, seamless weight and BMI data transfer to central systems and databases.
