Marsden M-652 Wheelchair Scale with Handrails (M-652)
What is a Class III Approved scale?A Class III Approved scale is built, tested, verified and calibrated to a meet a specific standard. The NAWI directive, which determines Class III Approved scales, states all scales ‘used in the determination of mass in the practice of medicine for the purpose of monitoring, diagnosis and medical treatment’ must be Class III Approved. Scales that are Class III are rigorously tested to assure the user of the scale’s accuracy and reliability.
How can you weigh someone in a wheelchair?Wheelchair scales are more permanent alternative to chair scales, bed scales and hoist scales, and allow the patient to remain in their own wheelchair whilst being weighed.
Additionally, wheelchair scales like the M-652 have a Preset Tare/Tare function which means the weight of the wheelchair can be removed from the reading, leaving you with a true weight reading for just the patient.
Who uses the M-652?The M-652’s fitted handles means this scale can be used to weigh wheelchair patients and patients who are unsteady on their feet. With the indicator mounted to the handles, weight readings are easy to read and monitor by hospitals and care home staff. This scale is particularly useful in Renal Units, Outpatients areas and where regular weight readings are required for disabled patients.
Why should I choose the M-652?Choose the M-652 if you need a weighing scale that can weigh patients in their wheelchair, but can also be used to weigh patients who can stand with the support of a handrail. It is also covered by the Marsden 8 Year Warranty.
The M-652 is a large one piece unit with integrated low-profile ramps for easy wheelchair access. It has a 300kg capacity and accuracy to 100g. It is compact and very easy to store. The base is fitted with castors and a handle so that it is easy and safe to transport. Rechargeable batteries provide 55 hours of continuous use.
The M-652’s indicator is very easy to use, with two screens that show weight, height and BMI data. BMI is calculated by manually entering height data into the full numeric keypad.
This wheelchair scale is also available with Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connectivity for wirelessly transmitting weight, height and BMI data to your database. A printer can be purchased as an optional extra, providing a permanent record of results.
